Les Angles Station de ski, Ski resort in Capcir Plateau, Eastern Pyrenees, France
Les Angles is a ski resort on the Capcir Plateau in the eastern Pyrenees with slopes running between 1600 and 2400 meters elevation. The terrain features around 55 kilometers of pistes winding through ancient pine forests with routes for different skill levels.
The site transformed into a ski destination during the 1960s through planned development that balanced new infrastructure with respect for existing village layouts. This measured approach established a sustainable mountain tourism center for the region.
Local festivals celebrate regional products, with events featuring regional wines, cheese, and chocolate throughout the season. The village maintains strong ties to Pyrenean food traditions that visitors can taste in shops and restaurants.
The resort operates 12 ski lifts spread across the terrain to provide good access to all elevation zones and keep wait times manageable. Snow conditions are most reliable from January through March, making this the peak period for confident skiing.
The ski slopes connect directly to the village center, allowing visitors to ski from the mountain all the way to their lodging without descending to a separate base area. This rare setup eliminates the need for parking and long transfers between the slopes and accommodation.
