Pic d'Aude is a granite summit rising to 1824 meters with dozens of climbing routes cutting across steep vertical faces. The rock faces offer varied terrain suitable for different skill levels and climbing styles.
For centuries, this summit served as a natural boundary separating the departments of Ariège and Aude in France. This geographical division shaped the regional development of both neighboring areas.

Visitors can reach the summit via a hiking trail of about 20 kilometers from Ax-les-Thermes that passes through Sorgeat village. The ascent continues beyond Col de Chioula, where the path climbs toward the peak.
The summit's granite face is known for its particularly demanding handholds that challenge even experienced climbers. About 25 climbing routes wind through the walls, rising up to 40 meters and requiring specialized climbing techniques.
