Dattatreya Temple

Dattatreya Temple is a Hindu place of worship in Carapichaima with twin elephant statues marking its entrance and multiple shrines honoring different Hindu deities. The structure features a decorated dome and various religious spaces arranged within its complex.

The temple was built over two years by fourteen skilled stonemasons from India who carved intricate details and symbolic figures throughout the structure. This imported craftsmanship shaped the appearance of the site significantly.

The temple displays Dravidian architectural features with a seven-tiered dome decorated in multiple colors showing musicians with different instruments. These artistic details reflect religious beliefs that visitors encounter during prayer and worship.

Visitors must remove their shoes before entering, which is a standard practice at this location. The site maintains set visiting times, so check ahead to plan your visit appropriately.

The grounds feature a 26-meter tall statue of the deity Hanuman, representing one of the largest depictions of this figure outside India. This towering statue is visible from afar and draws visitors who come specifically to see it.
