Marché de Sankariaré

Marché de Sankariaré is a commercial marketplace in Sector 3 with roughly 1400 shops and stalls distributed across multiple covered pavilions. Merchants sell fresh produce, handcrafted items, and regional goods to various groups of buyers here.

The marketplace underwent major reconstruction after a devastating fire in January 2023, with rebuilding efforts starting in October 2023. This renewal brought improved structures and safety systems throughout the commercial zone.

This market serves as a meeting point where local traders and shoppers come together to exchange goods that reflect daily life in the city. Vendors display traditional textiles, spices, and regional food products that form part of everyday commerce here.

The renovated marketplace provides each shop with electrical connections, transparent roofing, and fire safety systems for better comfort and security. Visitors should expect crowded areas and allow time to explore the different pavilions.

Each shop was slightly enlarged during the renovation to give merchants better working conditions. These improvements show investment in better conditions for the local trading community.
