Village artisanal

Village Artisanal is a craft marketplace in Ouagadougou where numerous artisans work in individual workshops throughout the space. Visitors can watch as these craftspeople create handmade textiles, pottery, jewelry, and wood carvings on the premises.

The marketplace was established as a cooperative project to create a central meeting point for traditional crafts. It has served as a connection between Burkinabe artisans and customers for many years since its founding.

Artisans from different regions of Burkina Faso work here using traditional techniques specific to their home areas. Visitors can see how each region has its own distinct artistic style reflected in the textiles, pottery, and carvings on display.

The marketplace is open daily with fixed prices on all items, meaning there is no need to negotiate. Visitors can freely explore the different workshops and observe artisans as they work on their crafts.

Every item purchased here comes with a registration number that identifies the artisan who made it. This allows buyers to trace exactly where their handcrafted pieces come from and confirm their authenticity.
