Timia

Timia is a village in the Aïr Mountains of northern Niger, situated at an elevation of approximately 1,000 meters with a permanent water source. Gardens and fruit trees surround the settlement, creating a green oasis within the otherwise arid terrain.

The settlement developed around a French colonial fort built to control the region during the late colonial period. Nearby archaeological remains at Assodé connect this location to much earlier human settlement in the mountain area.
