Cermigiusz

Cermigiusz is a small bronze figure positioned in the Szczepin district, crafted with careful attention to detail. The statue stands near the Hansel & Gretel houses and displays solid craftsmanship in its execution.

The statue was installed in 2015 as part of an art movement that began in the 1980s in response to political conditions. This art form later spread into a phenomenon with over 300 figures throughout the city.

The figure embodies the Polish krasnoludek tradition, small magical beings from folklore that inhabit urban spaces. Visitors encounter a bridge between modern street art and centuries-old stories that remain alive in local culture today.
