Wroclaw Contemporary Museum, Contemporary art museum in Plac Strzegomski, Wrocław, Poland
The six-story reinforced concrete building contains exhibition spaces dedicated to displaying works from both Polish and international contemporary artists.
The museum structure began as one of five air-raid shelters constructed in the 1940s, designed by Richard Konwiarz who also created the Berlin Olympic Stadium.
The museum collection holds 318 artworks that reflect conceptual art practices and social discussions influenced by the vision of Jerzy Ludwiński.
Visitors can explore the museum Monday from 9:00 to 17:00 and Wednesday through Sunday from 12:00 to 20:00, with closure on Tuesdays.
The building features protective walls exceeding one meter in thickness and a ceiling measuring one and a half meters, reflecting its original defensive purpose.
