Ślepak, Bronze dwarf statue in Stare Miasto, Wrocław, Poland
Ślepak is a small bronze dwarf figure with a blindfold, located in the historic Old Town district. The sculpture stands about 25 centimeters (10 inches) tall and displays fine details at an easily accessible spot.
The figure was installed on June 18, 2008, as part of a new art initiative in Wrocław. It joined hundreds of similar dwarf sculptures that have become part of the city's identity.
Ślepak displays a dwarf figure with a blindfold, symbolizing awareness of people with visual impairments. The statue represents one of several specialized dwarfs revealed during the Wrocław Without Barriers campaign.
The dwarf sits near the Market Square and is easy to reach on foot. Visitors should look carefully in all directions, as the small figure can be easily overlooked.
The figure is one of approximately 800 dwarf sculptures across Wrocław, forming the largest collection of gnome artworks in Europe. This project turned the city into a singular center for this type of public art.
