Flebuś

Flebuś is a bronze dwarf figure that rests on the ground along Powstańców Śląskich street near the Hansel and Gretel houses. This sculpture is one of more than 300 similar dwarf statues distributed throughout the city's neighborhoods and streets.

Dwarf statues in Wrocław started appearing in 2005 as a tribute to the Orange Alternative, a creative protest movement against communist rule. Flebuś joined this growing tradition when it was installed in 2020.

The figure represents a krasnoludek, a character from Polish folklore that shares roots with garden gnomes found in other European traditions. Today, this creature has become a symbol of local pride and a way residents and visitors connect with the city's storytelling heritage.

The dwarf is located on a public street and is easy to reach on foot, especially if you are already exploring the nearby Hansel and Gretel houses. Specialized maps showing all dwarf locations are available at visitor information centers to help you find other figures throughout the city.
