Enchanted Rock State Natural Area

The pink granite mountain rises 425 feet above ground, forming the largest granite monadnock formation in the United States across 640 acres of land.

Archaeological evidence reveals human presence dating back 11,000 years through Paleo-Indian projectile points and arrowheads discovered throughout the area.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department collaborates with Friends of Enchanted Rock organization to maintain and preserve this natural landmark for future generations.

The park maintains 11 miles of hiking trails, including the Summit Trail, with operating hours from 6:30 AM to 8:00 PM daily throughout the year.

The park earned designation as an International Dark Sky Park, offering clear views of stars and celestial objects without light pollution interference.
