The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden contains more than 40 permanent art installations across 11 acres of meticulously maintained green space.
The garden opened in 1988 through a partnership between the Walker Art Center and Minneapolis Park Board, following land donations from Thomas Lowry in 1906.
The Spoonbridge and Cherry fountain, created by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen, stands as a central element of Minneapolis public art collection.
Visitors can access the garden daily from 6 AM to midnight through various transportation options, including bus services, bike paths, and adjacent parking facilities.
An underground cistern system collecting 80,000 gallons of stormwater provides irrigation for the entire garden space, reducing municipal water consumption.
