Camping Playa de Otur, Seaside campground in Valdés, Spain
Camping Playa de Otur is a seaside campground in Valdés offering 69 plots that range from 35 to 70 square meters (380 to 750 sq ft) in size. The grounds feature gardens with more than 40 plant species and local animal populations.
The site lies near Castro de Coaña, a fortified Celtic settlement from the Iron Age. This ancient village demonstrates how long people have lived in this coastal area.
The region has deep ties to the Vaqueiros de Alzada, pastoral herders who moved between coastal lowlands and mountain highlands with the seasons. This way of life shaped both the landscape and local identity.
The campground opens from April through September and provides bungalows with refrigerators, heating, hot water, and full kitchen facilities. Being right by the beach makes swimming easy to access from most spots on the grounds.
The grounds function as a wildlife watching spot where around 30 bird species can be seen alongside hedgehogs, fireflies, and salamanders. This animal diversity takes advantage of the natural gardens and coastal setting.
