Coedo

Coedo is a beach near Navia along the Asturian coast, stretching about 50 meters and combining golden sand with shingle stones. The shoreline forms a natural gradient where pebbles gradually mix with finer material as you approach the water.

The geological makeup of this beach formed during the last ice age and has remained largely unchanged since then. The natural arrangement of stones and sand reflects this ancient foundation.

Local fishermen from Navia have used this beach as a traditional landing point for their small boats through multiple generations.

Access to the beach comes via a path from Navia's harbor area, which is a short walk away. Parking spaces are available near the main entrance.

The site carries dual designations as both a Special Protection Area and a Site of Community Importance based on its ecological features. This recognition reflects the value of the environment for wildlife and plants.
