Silver Beach

Silver Beach is a sandy cove on the eastern side of Koh Samui, stretching about 250 meters with soft white sand framed by large granite rocks and coconut palms. The water remains shallow and calm throughout the year, making it easy to wade and swim safely without strong currents.

The cove remained largely undeveloped until the late 1900s when tourism began reshaping Koh Samui from a quiet fishing island into a destination. The arrival of resorts and visitors transformed the shoreline while the bay itself retained its sheltered qualities.

Local fishermen continue their daily routines here, casting nets from long-tail boats in the early morning light as they have for decades. The presence of these boats and the sound of their work remind visitors that this cove still serves the community beyond tourism.

The beach can be reached via a paved road from Lamai Beach, with several resorts providing direct access and parking areas nearby. The sheltered waters stay calm year-round, so visitors can swim comfortably without worrying about rough conditions or seasonal changes.

The protected cove offers consistently clear water that lets you spot colorful fish without swimming far from shore, making it one of the few beaches on the island where you can observe marine life easily. This clarity persists throughout the year, unlike many other beaches that become murky during certain seasons.
