Jezero Bajer

Jezero Bajer is an artificial reservoir nestled in the Fužine region, created by damming a mountain river to hold water for the surrounding area. The lake spreads across a valley that was once flowing river landscape.

The reservoir was built in 1952 to support energy production in the region and reshape how water from the mountains was managed. This project transformed the valley into a controlled water system.

The lake draws people from surrounding villages who gather for fishing competitions and seasonal celebrations tied to the water and its role in local life. The community's connection to this body of water shapes how residents spend their leisure time.

A walking path circles the water and offers views throughout the area, with rest spots and dining options nearby. Visitors should prepare for mountain weather and obtain any required permissions before activities like fishing or boating.

A cave was discovered during construction and later redesigned to be wheelchair accessible without the need for stairs. This makes it one of the few underground attractions in the region open to all visitors.
