Jezero Lepenica

Jezero Lepenica is an artificial reservoir formed by damming the Lepenica River in a forested mountain region. The water displays a striking turquoise color and is surrounded by steep shores and dense woodlands.

The lake was created in the second half of the 20th century as a hydroelectric facility, fundamentally changing the former river landscape. The project was part of regional infrastructure development.

Local communities have integrated the lake into their recreational traditions, with fishing and nature walks becoming popular activities that connect families to the natural environment.

The lake is accessible via hiking trails from Fuzine and nearby areas, with several viewpoints along the shores offering views of the water. Parking areas are located near the main access points.

The water maintains its turquoise hue throughout the year regardless of season or weather conditions. This visible color contrast with the surrounding dark forests makes the lake instantly recognizable.
