Potami - Waterfalls - Tsourlei - Potami

The Potami waterfalls feature cascading water formations surrounded by dense plane trees, ferns, and native vegetation within a river-carved canyon approximately one kilometer from the trailhead.

The area contains historical remnants dating to the 14th century, including the Church of Metamorphosis, considered the oldest church on Samos, and a nearby Genoese castle positioned strategically on the hillside.

Local tavernas integrated into the landscape provide traditional refreshments while Samos Hikes operates guided tours that educate visitors about the region's natural heritage and ecological significance.

Access begins five kilometers from Karlovasi city center with parking available at Potami beach, followed by a one-kilometer hike along the river to reach the first waterfall.

Visitors can swim through a small pond to discover the first two-meter-high waterfall, then climb cliffsides or follow wooden steps to reach a second, larger cascade higher upstream.
