Aueršperk is a castle ruin perched on a rocky hilltop overlooking a bend in the Bystřice River. The site shows remnants of walls that once formed the defensive structure, with water surrounding it on three sides.
The fortress rose around 1325 as a defensive stronghold controlling the region. It played a role in local power struggles over centuries before eventually falling into decay.
The ruins bear the name of a noble family that shaped the region for centuries. Visitors can still trace this connection through the preserved stonework and the site's strategic position.
The site is best explored on foot as it sits on a hillside with limited accessibility. Local guides can be arranged through the Dvořiště area and help visitors understand the ruins more thoroughly.
The rocky foundation supporting the ruin is natural bedrock that was incorporated into the fortification. This made the location exceptionally strong and difficult to breach since nature itself served as a protective barrier.
