Čelákovice

Čelákovice is a town situated on the left bank of the Elbe River, roughly 15 kilometers east of Prague. The settlement sits at an elevation of 184 meters and benefits from direct railway connections to Prague and Kolín.

The site has origins reaching back to the Stone Age, with a fortress constructed around 1300. This fortification was later converted into a museum that continues to serve the community today.

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary displays architectural styles layered over time, creating a visual record of different building periods. Walking through town, you can observe how these changes reflect the community's evolution across centuries.

The town is accessible by regular train connections to Prague and Kolín, making it easy to reach from the capital. Once there, getting around is straightforward since the settlement is compact and most sites are within walking distance.

The TOS factory, established in 1910, shapes the town's character and specializes in machine tool production. This industrial facility played a key role in the community's growth and remains a major employer.
