Roztoky

Roztoky is a municipality on the left bank of the Vltava River in Prague-West District with several neighborhoods and residential areas mixed with green spaces. The church sits at the center while the town spreads along the river, creating a quiet residential area.

The area has been settled since the Stone Age according to archaeological findings, and Roztoky first appears in written records in 1233. The Church of Saint Clement, built upon an earlier chapel, connects this long occupation to religious life around 1000 years ago.

Saint Clement Church shapes the village and stands in a place where people have gathered for centuries. It shows how faith has been woven into daily life here for generations.

Train service on the Prague-Ústí nad Labem line provides convenient access to reach this location and move around. The town sits on the riverbank, making it easy to walk through different areas on foot.

From 1870 to 1952, a factory here produced globes for schools across Europe, a craft business that few people know about today. This specialized work once made the place known to educators and teachers throughout the continent.
