Lauterbacher Felsen comprises two granite rock formations named Kreuzfelsen and Rabenfelsen that rise prominently above the surrounding forest. Both formations feature climbing opportunities and viewing areas where visitors can take in the woodland scenery.

These granite formations took shape during the Triassic period when granite porphyry intrusions transformed the geological landscape. The rock structures that formed then created the steep outcrops visible today.

The pavilion at Rabenfelsen serves as a gathering spot where climbers and hikers meet and share their experiences. The site has become a social hub where people connect through their passion for outdoor activities.

The formations are accessed via marked hiking trails, with climbing requiring proper equipment on the secured routes available. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear and be prepared for moderate physical activity when exploring both summits.

The granite rocks contain distinct porphyry inclusions that create visible patterns across the stone surface. These geological features make the rock face interesting for climbers and are easily noticed while ascending.
