Ivančena, Stone memorial at Lysá hora mountain, Czech Republic.
Ivančena is a stone cairn memorial built on a slope of Lysá hora mountain from gathered stones. The structure rises prominently from the surrounding terrain and is composed of hundreds of stones stacked together to form a distinctive mound.
The memorial was erected in October 1946 to honor five members of the Silesian Scout movement who were executed by the Gestapo in 1945. These individuals had resisted the occupation.
Czech Scouts make annual pilgrimages near Saint George's Day on April 23rd, playing national anthems at noon to honor the resistance members.
The site is reached on foot by following marked hiking trails that begin from nearby train stations. The best time to visit is during dry weather, as the mountain paths can become slippery when wet.
The memorial contains stones from various locations around the world, some brought by travelers and expeditions. Among the stones is even a fragment from space that originated from a space mission.
