Vodopád v Bílé strži

Vodopád v Bílé strži is a waterfall in the Šumava Mountains where water descends in multiple drops and cascades. The flow moves through the White Stream and creates a series of small water features as it cuts through the rocky forest terrain.

The area became a protected nature reserve in 1972 to safeguard the mountain forest and its ancient trees. This protection status has helped keep the woodland and its natural character intact over the following decades.

The forest around this waterfall is made up of old spruce, fir, and rowan trees that form a protected mountain woodland. Visitors walking through notice how these different tree types grow together naturally at this altitude.

Visitors can reach this waterfall by following the red marked trail that starts from Black Lake and leads deeper into the forest. The path ends at a wooden viewing platform positioned above the water.

Some trees in this forest area have lived for more than 200 years, making them among the oldest spruce and fir trees in the region. Their survival at this high elevation shows the resilience of these ancient woods.
