Vyskeř, Mountain summit in Liberecký kraj, Czech Republic.

Vyskeř is a 466 m summit in the Jičínská pahorkatina highlands, the highest point of the northwestern Český ráj, about 5 km south of Turnov above the village of Vyskeř. Since 2021/2022 it has been completely cleared of trees and is kept open by grazing, so steppe flora and fauna are returning.

Vyskeř was planted with trees by local citizens in 1886, which limited long-distance views to five clearings aimed at nearby landmarks such as Trosky, Sobotka, Bezděz, Ještěd and Kozákov. Since 2021/2022 the summit has been completely cleared of forest and is kept open by grazing, allowing steppe flora and fauna to return.

The name Vyskeř, unusual for both the village and the hill, is explained on an information board at the start of the Way of the Cross by the parish Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, drawing on local legend. The path itself was rebuilt in 1999 and climbs from the village to the summit.

A marked hiking trail leads directly to the summit with several starting points nearby that are easy to reach. The terrain is hilly and vegetated, so sturdy footwear and moderate fitness are advisable.
