Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, Romanesque Revival church in Vyskeř, Czech Republic

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is a Romanesque Revival building with three naves, a pentagonal presbytery, and a prismatic tower. Throughout the structure, decorative details typical of this style are evident in both the exterior and interior.

A Gothic church stood here from perhaps the 13th, at latest the 14th century; its early Gothic sacristy portal and 15th-century vault boss survive in the present building. The current church was designed by Turnov architect Karel Salač and built in 1914–1915 as a massive stone structure, protected as a cultural monument since 16 November 2004.

The church keeps a late Gothic boss and an early Gothic portal to the sacristy from the medieval building, and the tower has hosted a colony of jackdaws for decades. Mass is held regularly on Saturdays at 14:00.

The church stands on a slope above the village, with the cemetery around it and a Stations of the Cross leading from the upper cemetery entrance to the Chapel of St Anne. It is open during services, held regularly on Saturdays at 14:00.

The church sits on a position that offers views across the surrounding landscape, making it a visual landmark you can spot from different points around the village. Its elevated setting makes it noticeable from far away.
