Church of Saint Paul, Gothic Revival church in Vítkovice, Czech Republic
The Church of Saint Paul is a neo-Gothic three-nave church on Mírové náměstí in Ostrava-Vítkovice, built in 1880–1886 from unrendered red brick. Its separate bell tower, completed in 1882, began as a water tower with two tanks and was later raised with a clock floor and pyramid roof.
The church was built in the nineteenth century as the industrial district of Vítkovice expanded and required larger religious facilities for its growing population. Its architectural style reflected broader European trends favoring Gothic Revival designs during that period of development.
