The Rothschild Palace in Vítkovice is the oldest surviving building in the district, a château originally built in Empire style on Výstavní street. A costly reconstruction costing over 120 million CZK, completed in 2009, left little of the original Empire style intact. It is a protected cultural monument.

The château was built in 1848 by Salomon Mayer von Rothschild, a banker from the powerful banking family. It emerged during the period when Vítkovice transformed from a village into a major industrial center.

The château's name recalls Salomon Mayer Rothschild, the Vienna-born banker and former owner of the Třinec ironworks who had it built in 1847–1848. Later owners of the Vítkovice works, among them Adolf Sonnenschein and Oskar Federer, also used the building. Its role as both ironworks administration building and factory owner's residence is what visitors still associate with the site.

The château stands on Výstavní street in Vítkovice, Ostrava, and is the oldest surviving building in the district. It reopened to the public on 1 May 2009 after a reconstruction costing over 120 million CZK, so much of the original Empire style is gone. It belongs to the Vítkovice Machinery Group.
