Nasavrky Castle

Nasavrky Castle is a Renaissance structure standing on the site of a former Gothic fortress. The building features an entrance hall with ornate portals and displays the architectural proportions typical of its era.

The castle was built around 1600 and represents the transition from medieval to early modern times. The Auersperg family owned the property from 1746 to 1942, establishing a long period of noble residence.

The interior houses an exhibition about Celtic life that connects visitors with the ancient history of the Iron Mountains region. The collection shows objects and discoveries from this early period of the area.

The castle sits about 11 kilometers south of Chrudim and 20 kilometers south of Pardubice in the Czech countryside. Visitors can join guided tours to explore the Renaissance architecture and interior spaces.

The castle functions not only as a museum but also houses modern apartments and administrative offices within its historic walls. This unusual dual use shows how the building has maintained practical relevance across centuries.
