Chapel of Saint Anne

The Chapel of Saint Anne sits in a valley next to a healing spring and is surrounded by forested hills like Anenský vrch. The small shrine offers views across the surrounding landscape and houses a statue of Saint Anne.

The shrine was first documented in 1529 and is one of the oldest religious structures in the region. After World War II, the village of Stara Voda around it disappeared, but the chapel remained as an important witness to the past.

The chapel draws pilgrims who come for the holy spring nearby and visit this shrine. Visitors find here a place where religious tradition and devotion to Saint Anne continues to this day.

Visitors reach the chapel best through the municipality of Město Libavá, located about 23 kilometers northeast of Olomouc. The best time to visit is on dry days, as the path crosses open terrain with little shelter from weather.

The shrine was long surrounded by military training grounds and stood isolated within this restricted zone. After restoration in 1990, it became accessible again and now serves as the final anchor of the vanished community of Stara Voda.
