Lightning Run extends 2,500 feet across Kentucky Kingdom, featuring a 100-foot drop and reaching speeds of 55 miles per hour during its course.
The roller coaster opened in 2014 as part of Kentucky Kingdom's revival, following a period of closure and negotiations between local investors and the state fair board.
Kentucky Kingdom selected this steel coaster design to strengthen its position as a regional entertainment center, drawing visitors from neighboring states to Louisville.
The ride accommodates 800 passengers per hour through two trains of five cars, with guests arranged in pairs across two rows for maximum efficiency.
This installation remains the sole operating Hyper GT-X model roller coaster produced by Chance Rides, incorporating nine distinct moments of weightlessness throughout the circuit.
