Harry S Truman State Park, State park near Warsaw, Missouri, United States
Harry S Truman State Park is a recreational area on a peninsula of Truman Lake, featuring oak woodlands and limestone cliffs along the shoreline. The grounds extend across about 1,440 acres (583 hectares) with access to different sections of the water and natural habitats.
The area was established as a recreational facility in 1976 by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and named after the 33rd President of the United States. The park's creation followed the completion of Truman Lake as a reservoir project.
The park maintains local traditions through managed deer hunts and promotes outdoor education programs focusing on Missouri's natural heritage.
Visitors can reserve campsites across six campgrounds up to a year in advance and access a marina for supplies during their stay. Navigation is straightforward since areas are well-marked and facilities are distributed throughout the grounds year-round.
The Bluff Ridge Overlook offers views across the lake and surrounding land from an elevated position that many water-focused visitors overlook. This viewpoint rewards those who venture slightly off the main activity areas.
