Marcus Royster Plantation is a historic estate in Granville County, North Carolina, built around 1850. The two-story main house was constructed by Marcus D. Royster and displays Greek Revival architectural features, including heavy timber framing, a distinctive low hipped roof, and a classical porch across the front facade.
Marcus D. Royster acquired land over several years before marrying Frances Webb in 1842, after which he built the main house around 1850 in Greek Revival style. The property is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The estate covers about 307 acres and includes several historic buildings in addition to the main house. Located near Wilbourns, the site is open to the public and visitors can explore the old structures and grounds at a relaxed pace without time pressure.
