The Averasboro Battlefield Historic District spans 4,700 acres of agricultural land with four buildings, three sites, and three structures near Erwin, North Carolina.
The battlefield witnessed a significant Civil War confrontation on March 15-16, 1865, leading to its recognition on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.
The district includes the Oak Grove and Lebanon plantations, a commemorative marker from 1872, and the Chicora Cemetery, representing Civil War heritage.
Visitors can explore the museum Tuesday through Saturday from 11 AM to 3 PM, with easy access from Interstate 95 at 3300 Highway 82, Dunn.
The American Battlefield Trust has preserved 520 acres of the original battleground, maintaining its historical configuration for educational purposes.
