Hilda Grossman Morris created this monumental bronze sculpture between 1965 and 1967 for Standard Insurance Company's art collection. The work was established as part of an effort to enhance public spaces in downtown Portland.

The allegorical work stands in the outer foyer of the Standard Plaza, a setting that puts a 3-metre bronze in the path of daily foot traffic on the Transit Mall.
