Women's University Club of Seattle

The Georgian-style building at 1105 Sixth Avenue features traditional architecture with symmetrical designs, refined moldings, and classic proportions throughout its six floors.

Established in 1914 by Edith Backus with 276 founding members, the Women's University Club moved to its current location in 1920 after displacement by the Olympic Hotel.

The club continues to provide educational programs, social gatherings, and professional networking opportunities for women with university degrees in the Seattle metropolitan area.

Members have access to dining facilities serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with private meeting rooms and spaces for social functions throughout the week.

Eleanor Roosevelt delivered an address at the club during its 25th-anniversary celebration in March 1939, highlighting its role in women's advancement.
