The building was constructed between 1979 and 1981 as the headquarters of Seafirst Bank, one of the largest banks in the Pacific Northwest at the time. When Bank of America acquired Seafirst, the building took on its current name, marking a shift in the region's banking landscape.
The building sits on Fifth Avenue, one of downtown Seattle's main pedestrian corridors, where office workers and shoppers pass by throughout the day. The glass facade reflects the surrounding buildings and changes its look depending on the light and the hour.
