Seth Bullock initiated the construction of this memorial tower in 1919 as the first national tribute following President Theodore Roosevelt's death.

Mount Roosevelt Road provides vehicle access to the site, while the Mount Roosevelt Trail allows visitors to reach the monument on foot.
