Farny State Park, Natural area and state park in Morris County, New Jersey, United States.
Farny State Park is a forest reserve in Morris County covering roughly 589 acres of mixed oak woodland. Streams and wetlands run throughout the property, creating a varied landscape of dense woods and water features.
The park was established in 1943 to protect the natural landscape of the region. An old logging road that remains visible within the property reflects the area's former timber industry.
The forest supports endangered red-shouldered hawks and threatened barred owls, making it a critical habitat for protected wildlife species.
The park can be accessed by taking Route 287 to Route 23, then following Green Pond Road into the area. Parking is available near the Splitrock Reservoir Dam.
Split Rock Reservoir sits within the park boundaries, and fishing is allowed only from boats on this water body. This approach protects the shoreline and sets the park apart from typical forest areas nearby.
