Lake Quassapaug, lake of the United States of America

Lake Quassapaug is a reservoir in New Haven County, Connecticut, covering approximately 300 acres. The clear water is fed by underground springs, making it one of the cleanest lakes in the state, and it is surrounded by residential homes, wooded shorelines, and diverse aquatic plant species.

Lake Quassapaug is a 296-acre (120 ha) lake in Middlebury, Connecticut, and the site of Quassy Amusement Park. The Lake Quassapaug Association was formed in 2012 to preserve the lake's high water quality and promote responsible enjoyment of the lake. Six private outing clubs, including the Lake Quassapaug Outing Club and the Quassapaug Sailing Center, operate on the lake.

Lake Quassapaug is home to Quassy Amusement Park, a family park on its shore, and hosts six private outing clubs, among them the Lake Quassapaug Outing Club and the Quassapaug Sailing Center. The Lake Quassapaug Association, formed in 2012 by interested individuals, groups and lakefront property owners, manages reservations for the lake and works to keep its water quality high.

Motorboats are allowed on the lake but have a speed limit of 5 miles per hour to keep the water calm and safe. The best time to visit is from spring through fall, as the water can freeze over in winter and the area becomes quiet.

The lake hosts several invasive aquatic plant species, including variable-leaf watermilfoil and Eurasian watermilfoil, which grow densely in certain arms of the lake. Local groups and researchers continuously work to control these plants and maintain the health of the lake for future generations.
