The Ritz Ybor

The Ritz Ybor is a music venue and theater in Ybor City with three distinct rooms: the Royal Room, Rivoli Room, and Theatre Ballroom featuring a large stage. The building contains multiple bars and seating areas spread throughout its spaces.

Architect M. Leo Elliott designed this building in 1917 as the Rivoli Theatre, originally serving the local Afro-Cuban community with silent films. It later transformed through different uses as a cinema and nightclub before becoming an entertainment venue.

The Grand Foyer displays original terrazzo floors, Art Deco mirrors, and wall sconces from the early 20th century that connect all three main rooms. These decorative elements reflect the building's long role as a gathering place for the local community.

The building began as a silent film theater, later became an adult cinema, and then operated as a nightclub called The Masquerade. A major renovation in the mid-2000s transformed it into the modern entertainment venue it is today.
