Founded in 1896 by Vicente Ybor and Edward Manrara, this establishment marked its place as the first brewery in Florida, reaching production of 80,000 barrels annually.
Theodore Roosevelt and his Rough Riders celebrated at this location after the Spanish-American War, marking a significant moment in American military history.
The restored building at 1234 E 5th Avenue in Tampa now houses law offices and commercial spaces, maintaining its original architectural features.
Before the brewery's construction, the site contained Government Spring, which supplied water to Fort Brooke and held significance for Florida's Paleo Indians.
