Canyonview Aquatic Center, Athletic complex at University of California San Diego, United States.
Canyonview Aquatic Center is an athletic complex at the University of California San Diego featuring two Olympic-sized swimming pools. Each pool contains eight 50-meter lanes and specialized diving platforms designed for competitive training and events.
The facility opened in 1982 as San Diego's first publicly accessible long-course pool. A second pool was added in 2006 to increase capacity and provide more training opportunities.
The center serves as a training hub for UCSD Tritons water polo and swimming teams. These programs shape the athletic identity of the university and attract competitors from across the region.
The pools are heated year-round to temperatures between 80 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit (26 to 29 degrees Celsius). Separate locker rooms, showers, and evening deck lighting make it convenient to train at different times of day.
The East Pool hosted an unusual water polo event in 1989 that lasted 26 continuous hours. This endurance event remains a notable memory of the facility's versatility and capacity to support extended competitions.
