Greyhound Stadium, Multi-purpose athletic stadium in Portales, United States
Greyhound Stadium is a multi-purpose athletic venue in Portales built specifically for university and high school sports. The facility offers 4,000 elevated seats surrounding a modern playing field with artificial turf and a standard running track.
The facility opened in 2016, replacing the older Blackwater Draw Stadium that had served the university since 1968. The new construction represented a major modernization of Eastern New Mexico University's athletic infrastructure.
Eastern New Mexico University athletics, Greyhound Sound marching band, and Portales High School teams share this modern sports complex for their activities.
The stadium features several air-conditioned press areas with dedicated spaces for media coverage and broadcast operations. Visitors benefit from good sightlines thanks to the elevated seating arrangement and clear orientation throughout the facility.
The stadium carries its name through a major donation and serves both the university and local high schools. This shared use creates an active sports calendar in town with different events throughout the year.
