Loews Hotel Tower, Contemporary skyscraper in Streeterville, Chicago, United States.
The Loews Hotel Tower is a 49-story skyscraper in Chicago's Streeterville neighborhood, rising about 545 feet (166 m) along the lakefront. It houses hotel rooms and rental apartments in the same building, along with ballrooms, restaurants, and underground parking.
The tower was completed in 2015 and was the tallest building finished in Chicago that year. It was part of a broader effort to develop the lakefront area of Streeterville, which had seen growing construction activity in the years before.
The building sits along the Chicago lakefront, in a neighborhood used by tourists, convention visitors, and city residents alike. The third-floor terraces face Lake Michigan and serve as a gathering spot for guests staying at the hotel.
The main entrance is on North Park Drive, where a motor court handles vehicle access at ground level. The building is easy to reach on foot from the Magnificent Mile and nearby public transit stops.
The tower was designed by the firm Solomon Cordwell Buenz and has a U-shaped footprint that opens toward the street. This shape is not common for a building of this size and gives it a recognizable outline when seen from the lake or the nearby park.
