Sam Hill House, Historic house in Capitol Hill, Seattle, US.

Sam Hill House is a Classical Revival residence constructed with concrete block methods in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood. The structure features spacious rooms with intricate architectural details throughout its four-story design.

Railroad magnate Samuel Hill commissioned architects Hornblower and Marshall to build this house in the early 1900s. The residence was designed in anticipation of a visit by Belgian royalty.

The house was home to art collector Guendolen Plestcheeff, who displayed her extensive decorative arts collection within its rooms. Visitors can experience how the interior spaces were arranged to showcase these valuable objects.

The house is located in Seattle's Harvard-Belmont Historic District, which is easily accessible on foot along with nearby sites. The area is a residential neighborhood, so visitors can explore at their own pace without crowds.

The house was an early adopter of hollow concrete block construction, a building method based on a 1898 patent. This innovative technique was uncommon for large residential buildings at the time, making the project an experiment with new materials.
