Sam Hill House, Historic house in Capitol Hill, Seattle, US.

The Sam Hill House stands as a Classical Revival structure featuring concrete block construction, spacious interiors, and detailed architectural elements throughout the residence.

Railroad executive Samuel Hill commissioned architects Hornblower and Marshall to construct this residence between 1909 and 1910 for an anticipated Belgian royal visit.

The house served as the residence of preservationist Guendolen Plestcheeff, who established the Plestcheeff Institute for Decorative Arts in partnership with the University of Washington.

Located at 814 E. Highland Drive in Seattle's Harvard-Belmont Historic District, the property encompasses 23,000 square feet of land with four bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

The residence incorporated innovative concrete block construction methods, utilizing technology from Harmon S. Palmer's 1898 patent for molded hollow concrete building blocks.
