Sandhurst Las Vegas, Mixed-use building project in downtown Las Vegas, United States.
Sandhurst Las Vegas was a planned residential tower project in downtown Las Vegas featuring 35 stories of housing and retail space. The development was designed to be located near major transportation corridors and shopping destinations in the area.
The project began in 2004 when developers purchased land from Union Pacific Railroad and announced plans with the city. Rising construction expenses made the project unviable and it was ultimately cancelled in 2007.
The building design by JMA Architecture incorporated modern residential and commercial spaces to accommodate the growing downtown Las Vegas community.
The site was located at the intersection of Charleston Boulevard and Grand Central Parkway, near major shopping destinations. Its location offered convenient access to primary transportation routes in the city.
The cost per unit nearly doubled from initial estimates to final projections, making the project financially unworkable. This sudden expense jump led to the development being shelved permanently.
