The Snow Flake Motel was a hotel with a distinctive six-pointed star layout that opened in 1962 in Lincoln Charter Township, Michigan. The building featured concrete block construction with a ridged metal roof, guest rooms with sliding glass doors opening onto patios, and a central courtyard containing a swimming pool and sitting areas.
The motel was built in 1961 and opened in 1962, with design input from architect William Wesley Peters, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. Originally envisioned as a modern travel hotel, it faced economic challenges starting in the 1970s, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998, and was demolished in 2006.
The motel no longer exists, having been demolished in 2006. Visitors interested in its history can view archival photographs and historical records documenting its design and operation, or visit the former site where new development has been planned.
