Weko Beach

Weko Beach is a sand beach on Lake Michigan that spans wooded dunes and includes a modern beach house and boat launch. The site provides concession stands and restrooms along with two observation decks overlooking the water.

The beach was established by the City of Bridgman as one of the few direct access points to Lake Michigan for local residents. Over time, it has grown into a popular destination for both community members and visitors.

Each evening from late May through early September, a bugler performs Taps at sunset, continuing a tradition that has endured for over five decades. This ritual has become a special moment that draws visitors and locals together.

The beach is open daily from late May through early September, with convenient parking near the beach house. Visitors should expect busier conditions during peak times and arriving early helps secure better spaces.

The beach offers kayak and paddleboard rentals, allowing visitors to explore the waters of Lake Michigan directly. Additionally, live music concerts are held regularly throughout the summer season, providing outdoor entertainment for guests.
