Bukit Bunga–Ban Buketa Bridge, Road bridge connecting Bukit Bunga, Malaysia and Ban Buketa, Thailand.
The Bukit Bunga-Ban Buketa Bridge is a road crossing that connects Malaysia and Thailand across the Golok River. It spans approximately 120 meters with a width of about 17 meters and provides two lanes for vehicle traffic in both directions.
Construction began in October 2004 and was completed with an official opening ceremony in December 2007. The project emerged from a regional development initiative between the three countries to promote trade and cooperation.
The bridge carries different names in local languages: Jambatan Persahabatan in Malay and Saphan Mitrphap in Thai, reflecting the regional diversity. Both communities use these distinct names when referring to the crossing in their own languages.
The crossing requires vehicles to prepare for customs requirements and passport control procedures on both sides. Visitors should be aware of local traffic rules and conditions on both sides of the border.
This is the third border crossing over the Golok River between the two countries, establishing a new route for regional trade movement. The location was chosen to create additional connections for economic development in the border region.
